I'm going try to track every D1 wrestler who is from Wisconsin but wrestles elsewhere vs the lineup the Badgers are running out there. We've got a lot of time between now and March, but that said, I need help. Can we see if we can generate the complete list of former Wisconsin wrestlers hitting the mat with someone else's singlet on?

Thanks in advance for your help!

This is a good thought and you will probably find Badgers doing better, however a better question would be, how do they do compared to how they were ranked coming out of HS, meaning did they develop much at the school they are at.  If I was coming out of HS right now, I would want to know what school develops talent the best.

This list just goes to show how big of jump there is from Wisconsin high school wrestling to college.

Christensen beat Morrissey 11-0 last year and Breske 2-0 this year.
Wick beat Lee 6-3 this year and beat Marko at Fargo just before college.
Smerchek would probably beat Stone this year, but he is not close to an AA threat or even being ranked.
Thornton beat Lantz 3-1 this year, but he is also not an AA threat.  Jimenez beat him last year.

That said, if Nebraska decides to pull Labriola's redshirt and Breske wanted to move back home, I would be happy if he came back.  I will be curious to see how Nebraska's upper weights play out the next couple years.

Nebraska does have a lot of depth in the upper weights, but we are building depth as well. With guys like Reinhardt and Covaciu sitting. They are both starting caliber wrestlers. I agree with your assessment on Wisconsin high school wrestlers. There are 0 outside of our team that are an AA threat in my opinion. The best chance would probably be Thorton/Breske.

I wouldnt over look Mr Bianchi from NDSU as a wrestler that has 4 years left to make some noise either. I think Mr Bianchi can be in that set up, a very good college wrestler.

honestly I hope all the kids from Wisconsin whether they are on the UW roster or they are on other schools rosters.

Ben Hornicle, Wyoming.  He has the unfortunate position of wrestling behind Bryce Meredith.  Next year should be his coming out party!

Meredith is a nut, I love watching him wrestle.

Be even more fun when Ben moves in.

Fritz is the back up 165 but got a spot start at 174 for Bo Jordan.
Devin Skatzka (Indiana) over Fritz Schierl (Ohio State) (Dec 9-5); pretty darn good giving up a weight class.
