WWCA Presidents Message – 9/24/2015
John Quinlan – President – Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association
The 2015-16 wrestling season is upon us and what an exciting one it should be. One of the major changes for the upcoming season is that the WIAA Individual State Tournament Finals will now be televised live! Rush Media, who also produce Fox Sports, will be taking on this task and I think will do a very professional job and help to raise our sport to another level. A big thanks to Mel Dow of the WWCA Board for all his hard work on this matter.
Another great addition is Joe Shinners taking over the reigns of “The Crossface”. Joe Kaster did a phenomenal job during his tenure and I know Joe will continue the great tradition of the magazine and add to it as weekly rankings, technique videos, and much more will also be included as The Crossface goes to the Internet as well.

The Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association Fall Clinic will be coming up the first weekend in November and should be very informative with some great clinicians, vendors, an officials clinic, as well as our Hall of Fame Banquet and Coaches Luncheon. Please visit the website for a brochure and more information at www.wwca.org. Wendell Bean does an incredible job as our Fall Clinic Chairman and with almost 500 attendees it is perhaps the best coaches wrestling clinic in the country.

As the new WWCA President I am really looking forward to the next two years as we strive to make our sport even better. A big thanks to Dave McCarthy from Neenah for his leadership the past two years and to all the board members. Please go to our website for contact information if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding wrestling in Wisconsin. Your local District Reps are a great place to start.

See you matside,

John Quinlan
WWCA President

Exchanging forfeits just is not that exciting.
