Big thanks to Mr. Jim Keller for his generous support of BadgerStateWrestling.  I am very thankful that he has been the primary backer for this venture.  We are again following former wrestler Dallas Seavey and his quest for a third Iditarod Championship.  Dallas is currently in 7th place.  Here is link for standings updates.

Thanks!  Very interesting!  2nd place, now?  Am I reading this right?

Dallas Seavey
March 12 at 10:25pm Edited
Does Dallas have a new strategy?
Dallas' trademark strategy is to lurk 6 to 8 hours behind the leaders, staying within striking distance, what he calls "building the monster". He runs conservatively and keeps the dogs well rested and strong so that when it is time to turn up the heat he's got the fuel to do it. Once he lets them run, his rise in the standings is astounding. You go to bed, then wake up to see that he has gone from 13th to 4th overnight. He then precedes to systematically pick off the teams in front of him.
Dallas is running close to the front early in this race. Certainly unusual for him, and it does raise the question as to whether or not he has changed his tactics.
He has not. This is what "building the monster" now looks like for our team. This group of dogs are such extraordinary athletes that we've been hard presses to give them the level of training that challenges them. As I write this, Dallas and team are smashing a 74 mile run into Huslia, outrunning the other teams on the trail by almost 2mph. They are running in 2nd place, but are still building their speed. When they get off the Yukon, after Kaltag, Dallas will have a monster team to turn loose.

Dallas currently 4th and Mitch is 5th

Congrats to JJ Keller's Dallas Seavey - 2015 Iditarod Champion. Former wrestler. I cut out the article and post it on our wrestling bulletin board. Young kids read it and it may spark an interest to wrestle. A recruiting tool I use with other successful athletes in college and professional sports. Way to go Dallas and the JJ Keller Team.  Thanks for your sponsorship.
