This could be a great fight.

Two very good MMA fighter with wrestling back grounds.

Jones 20-1 note the one loss he was putting a beating on Hamil and got DQ for illegal strikes. (All American wrestler)
97% take down defense.
66% of strikes avoided.
Great inside and fights using his reach has unconventional striking and is very effective from all angles.
59% success on strikes thrown and landed from standing position. based on 824 strikes thrown
elbows and knees have been great weapons for a Jones.
Jones has def need his title a record number of times against some very tough and top notch fighters as Glover Texiera and Evans and his toughest bought where he won a very close decision over Alexander Gustofson.

Cormier 15-0 in the UFC a (trained on the Olympic wrestling team)
100% take down defense.
70% strike defense.
Striking success of 56% based on 201 strikes thrown.
67% take down success.
wrestling has been his best weapon ground and pound and mauling his opponents.
His most high profile match was against Dan Hnedo Henderson where he mauled the HOF
He defeated heavy weight Big Country with some devastating striking and wrestling.

Jones has fought higher level fighters and won his defenses against tougher opponents than Cormier but Cormier has shown dominance in all his wins in the UFC.

Both fighter looked absolutely ripped at weigh in last night and it should be barn burner.

Well I am going with the Champion because of his style reach and experience.

Jones did what few thought he could he stuffed every TD attempt of Cormier and took Cormier down 5 times. He has so many weapons from so many angles it's just crazy.

Cormier got inside the first two rounds and used uppercuts and striking inside to try disrupt Jones rhythm he connected early but Jones elbows and strikes and kicks and knees back him up. Jone attacked the body allot. When they got into the 4th round Jones was dominating him by using a Randy Coture dirty wrestling technique putting him against the cage and then connecting with short strikes , elbows and knees. He the used his length to get under the hips of Cormier and take him down twice once almost getting in the choke. Significant strikes were largely in favor of the Champion.

Don't get me wrong here it was a really good battle but Jones is something else and really rose to the challenge proving to be too diverse and talented for the challenger. The Jackson camp and Jones improvised style was too much for Cormier to over come. Great fight. In the light weight division Cerrone gets his 6th straight win in 3 round decision over undefeated Miles Jury.
